We test hybrid batteries with a computer that reads the condition of every cell, before and after replacement. A final answer needs a physical inspection; a battery cannot be diagnosed remotely from a message or photo.
Signs worth checking (general information)
- A 'Check Hybrid System' message or red triangle warning
- Noticeably worse fuel economy than usual
- Battery charge gauge rising and dropping quickly
- Engine running more than usual and weaker acceleration
- Battery cooling fan louder than usual

- A photo of any dashboard warning message
- What you notice: weak acceleration, higher fuel use, engine running more often, loud battery fan
